This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Joseph E. Dalelio.
A beloved husband, father and grandfather, the disease that took him never extinguished his love and care for family, quick wit, and passion for music, dance, and food. Just weeks before he passed, he fully participated in his family's weekly Sunday gathering, eating his wife's delicious cooking, throwing hilarious insults at his Scrabble competitors, and singing along at full volume to big band standards.
His was a compassionate heart and an insatiably inquisitive mind. He spent his years tirelessly ensuring that others were well cared for and protected. He read anything he could get his hands on and explored everything that interested him, knocking on any door, or approaching any person to find out what it or they were all about. A Korean War Army veteran, Joseph's extroverted and curious mind was well suited to his work for many years as a functions manager for the John Hancock Hall, where he interacted with hundreds of performers and civic and business leaders. He was thrilled that upon retirement he could finally travel with his family, enjoying taking cruises and going to California for the first time.
Joseph leaves his wife of 56 years, Bessie Dalelio; daughters Nancy Fernandez and her husband Mark, Susan Dalelio and her partner Peter Hoffman, and Wendy Dalelio; grandchildren Kyle and Emily Fernandez; and sister Barbara Dalelio.
We will remember him forever.
