In Remembrance of Johnnie Medaglia
Johnnie was born on August 25th, 1936 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. After graduating from Newton High he enlisted in the Navy. He served as the Quartermaster on the USS Skate, the first submarine to surface at the North Pole. He went on to become a Master Plumber and had his own company. He was known for his quick humor and although he may have been short in stature, his presence was immense.
Johnnie was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Medaglia and sister Lorraine. He is survived by his brother Guy [Rosie], sister Sandra and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the beloved husband of Eve Curtis Medaglia, proud father of Angelo [Melissa], Dante [Martha], Eden [Chris], Bion [Marina], John Jr. [Denise], Donna [Carl] and many grandchildren and granddogs.
In lieu of his preferred Viking funeral, a celebration of his life will be held at Caffe Tremezzo, 566 High Street in Dedham, Sunday, April 10th, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Military service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Monday, April 11th, at 2:00 pm. All are welcome.
